You can now work towards supporting the site using Navizon.

Navizon is a wireless positioning system that works a little bit like a GPS, only that it uses Cellular Towers and Wifi access points instead of satellites. In addition to being a wireless position system, Navizon offers cool features like the Directions, Buddy finder, Geotags and many more...

This software relies on a community of users who contribute data to the system (WiFi and Cellular towers) when they have a GPS device. And the cool thing is that we / you can earn money doing it with the Navizon reward system.

The only thing I'm trying to work out is how to enable the internal GPS for it as it seems to only look for BT GPS units?

I set the GPS port in Navizon Options to COM5 (the Ameo's hardware port) and it found it after restarting the program. I'll have to see if it will use the WM GPS Intermediary Driver if I want to use iGO at the same time, otherwise I'l need to reinstal GPSGate. I disabled the WM GPSID as it seriously delayed a GPS fix, but have since downgraded the Ameo's radio to 1.47, which is much, much better

I have switched the power mode to manual, as Navion was constantly trying to turn the WLAN and GPRS on, and I often don't have a signal here at home. It became very intrusive, and I suspect would knacker the battery in a very short time.

Cheers Neil, I'd missed teh GPS tab as it is to the 'right' of where the options opens for me as a default. Now set so we'll see what happens tomorrow morning on the way to work. I'll definitely be using power mode manualy and using it when travelling only.

Did you get set up okay with the referral code?

The referal code link took me the the registration page, so I assume so!

I've now removed the navizon link from startup, as it was causing problems where there is no signal.
