Re: Windows Mobile 6 for my Imate SP5m

hey everyone. I am new here. I just got my imate sp5m yesterday and I love it so far. I really want to upgrade to winmo6. I'm assuming there isn't an official upgrade for my phone since I've yet to find it but the roms here sound like they work well. Doesn't keep me from being nervous though. I'm not a noob when it comes to winmo but I am when it comes to doing all the crazy things ya'll are talking about to get the phone to run winmo 6. Few things. I found that guy's guide to installing it on the tornado. All the links for the programs were down and his blog is basically gone from what I can tell. Where do I get those programs from? Also, I'm not interested in getting a hacked together version of winmo 6, I want it as original as possible. Just like the "real thing". Course, i guess it is the real thing. IDK. lol. So i really need those programs he was talking about. That's it for now. I've got a ton more questions but I figure it's best to cross one bridge and then go to the next. I appreciate any help you can give me. TY. SPACE

Re: Windows Mobile 6 for my Imate SP5m

You can still view the page although not in a pretty way through the Google cached pages, this link should work for you then follow the steps which works well as I followed these when doing mine some time ago.

Re: Windows Mobile 6 for my Imate SP5m

I should still have most of the apps linked to on the page.

Let us know what you are missing and we'll see what we can come up with.....

Re: Windows Mobile 6 for my Imate SP5m

guys, i downloaded the setup.xml file from imate.com to setup my phone for att but I can't get it to work. I downloaded it, then I extracted the file to my desktop. Then I sent it to my sp5m and tried to run it but it just opened up in ie and had a tone of text. What do I do to install the stupid file? I've been looking for a while and I'm really starting to get frustrated. Any help is appreciated, thanks. SPACE

Looks like this should be a new thread. Tell us what forum section you want it in and a mod will move it for you.

Re: Windows Mobile 6 for my Imate SP5m

Do you get any lights or anything? Anything at all come up on the screen? Can you access the bootloader by holding the camera button and the communication manager and then turn on the phone? Does it come up with the 3 colour screen?

P.s. Welcome to 4WM!
