HTC Home on Smartphone (WM Standard)

I've decided to change the ROM on my Atmos (HTC S730) to HTC's release ROM.

All's gone fine and set up and syncing nicely with Exchange!

Configured the Weather tab and that's working and I have set up the Favourite people tab too.

To use the Favourite People tab you would think you use the joystick on WM Standard to navigate to the tab and use the up selection on the D-Pad to then select the favourite and then Action to dial. Seems logical to me but not, apparently, to HTC!

They want you to use the D-Pad to go to the Favourites tab then press the Action button and then get a complete list of these favourites and then select the one you want and press the Action button again or hit the Call soft key.

Not logical to me!

So those with HTC Smartphones (WM 6 Standard) and HTC Home installed - beware....

Re: HTC Home on Smartphone (WM Standard)

I found it on XDA-Devs a while back but didn't realised I had downloaded it!

Was looking again yesterday but couldn't find it so gave up and then saw it in my PPC Archive folder!

If you need it Jim, I'll see if I can get it posted up somewhere...

It's the HTC Ship ROM so slightly older than Atmos ROM but runs fine and stable plus it has Home on it which I've now removed as it's not really designed for a non-touchscreen interface. Back to Facade 1.4!

Ahhh, I was thinking that the HTC Home may have been a good addition, but if you've removed it, it doesn't sound like its viable.

I agree with the funny implementation of the dialler, but at the time I thought it was excellent. Since then the 6.1 homescreen has come out which I think is better though.

Can't seem to find a stable 6.1 rom for S730 though so sticking with HTC 6.0 build for now.

Unless you know of one?

Re: HTC Home on Smartphone (WM Standard)

Sorry mate, can't help. I never used 6.1 on the s730. 6.1 on the S620 is awesome though (considering it's an S620 anyway).

Re: HTC Home on Smartphone (WM Standard)

Doesn't look like there's much activity either formally from HTC or informally via XDA-Devs for the 730 which is a pity as its a nice device for work.

I think Softbank in Japan have just released a couple with funky case colours and more memory but that's about it.

Re: HTC Home on Smartphone (WM Standard)

I'm surprised really. The s710 was very well received.
