New ROM Recommendations

Okay, I'm back from the IT black-hole that is my parents house over Christmas (though there were murmurings of broadband and WiFi coming soon!). I hope everyone enjoyed whatever gadgets FC saw fit to leave under the tree for them (I got my 2nd-hand BluRay and a replacement camcorder).

My new-years resolution is to replace the ROM on my Xperia (have pencilled in Thursday evening). The current Wild Child Manilla ROM has done me fine service for 7 months now but the slowness is apparent each time I take out the XDA Guide and it's beginning to lock-up a bit too frequently.

I know nearly everyone under the sun has jumped ship to the HD2 now but can anyone recommend a good, reliable, fast X1 ROM with Manilla? Not bothered about anything else being installed as it tends to get removed quick-smart - but I do find the device many times easier to manage with Manilla (or sense) installed.

Re: New ROM Recommendations

I use the NRG ones. Currently one from around the 17th December.

It seems pretty stable (and would have to be as I use the X1 for work purposes).

He does a number of options with start button at top or bottom of screen etc.

Easy to find on XDA-Devs in the X1 ROM section....

Re: New ROM Recommendations

lanscape manilla is starting to make an appearance in some of the leo leaked roms and i'd guess they'd be good for the x1 as well.

not got my x1 anymore so haven't checked but may be worth a look see

Re: New ROM Recommendations

I'm using the Touch-IT ROM. Mine has been pretty good but there's a new one out here:

I'm DLing it now and will flash it shortly.

Re: New ROM Recommendations

Cheers guys. Snowed in today so, after building a snowman, I now have a bit of free time to play with some ROMS. Got the NRG ROM on at the moment. Not overly impressed. I'll give it a bit and see how it goes. Might be trying the touchIT ROM later though.

Re: New ROM Recommendations

I've just put the new Touch-It ROM on and it seems pretty cool so far. First impressions is that Sense is much quicker and it works properly in landscape too.

Re: New ROM Recommendations

That sounds good. After a hard-reset the NRG ROM improved no end - but SMS is a pain. It doesn't work as is. I've applied a cab which gets it sort of working but not 100% with SMS Chat. So I suspect I'll be giving the Touch-it ROM a try later on.
