Re: Newest 6 Button HTC Home plugin+customisation pack cab files for all devices (14-

First let me say this is great! I'm looking forward to getting my Tilt set up with this. (I need to wait on the customizer until I get a memory card...and I'm on orders for no spending on it until after Christmas). Thanks so much for the efforts.

But I have started with the Home plugin. I may be confused, but I downloaded from the link above, and installed. The file name is HTC.Home.v2.1.1005.722.Directory.And.Brightness.Fi x.schen.cab.zip.

But based on some reading I've done, it seems it may not be the right version. The Brightness setting does not work (maybe I don't know how to use it. I click it and nothing happens. I tried clickign it and rolling the dial on the side of the phone, nothing); and I cannot find the weather settings to specify a specific city, which I've read in this thread somewhere that you can now do.

Any thoughts?

Hi ewingr and welcome to 4WM

Glad you like the 6 Button Home plugin. Regarding your problem with the screen brightness button to make it brighter and then dimmer you just have to tap on it. The other problem you have getting the weather to work, you should be able to tap on select city or the current city that is showing and a list will appear and then choose the city you wish to use.

If you are not happy with this version then the one available at the emunutz website given in the first post of this thread may be better for you.

Thanks BOZ for the quick reply, and the welcome.

I sure don't want to say I am 'unhappy' with this version.

That's what I try, and nothing at all happens.

That does work however my city is not in the list. I have read (I really don't remember it it was this site now...I've been reading around all day) that the 'latest' one has a way to select a custom database, or somethign, and you can put in your own city if it is not in the list that ships. That is what I cannot do. I am sure I read that about the version of the file I downloaded. Although, it was in a reply from someone, not the person who put the link to the file up.

I'm not sure if emunutz is the site that is PocketEMu, but I have since downloaded that one which says it too has the 'fix' for brightness, and it doesn't work either.

Other than Brightness, and getty my city for weather, it is working great.

If anyone has any other thoughts, I'll be watching and giveing it a try.

Thanks!

I thought the brightness fix would apply to the Hermes only, as far as qou have the Kaiser (Tilt), the fix might not work for you.
At xda-developers.com, there's a version without the fix, maybe you try that one.

Ahhh....yes, that may be it. I've been seeing all kinds of versions of this around. I've tried a couple. I'll try to find one that is for the Kaiser.

Thanks!

[EDIT]
Well, I'm a bit confused. The one I installed originally is the one that BOZ has here ->http://www.4winmobile.com/forums/pho...s-14-10-a.html. It says he has it on his Kaiser.

I have since installed another one from a post over in the AT&T Tilt forums, and the brightness icon works. But the weather is version 1 instead of v 2, although I really don't see any difference there.

But I did want the color icons which BOZ's one says it has (although they weren't color when I installed.)

I think it's just a matter of getting the right set of files. I also don't know now which HTC customizer I should install.

Just keep the 6 Button Home plugin you have working for you, then install the Home Customisation I have posted on the first page you should have no problems.

Hi jackawuk and welcome to 4WM

When you get to the Rapidshare site just click on free and it will give you the file after a time countdown and code entered on screen, if you have any more problems please ask, I do not have the time to send out emails I am afraid.
