Change soft keys? Registry?

Hi everyone!

I'm really new so please don't kill me. I've been trying to figure this out for a while and I have read a lot of threads that tell me what to do but I just don't get it.

I'm trying to change the left soft key. I know i have to change the registry setting but that's the problem. I don't know how to do that. I have total commander but it's weird and I can't figure it out(EDIT: just downloaded resco explorer as it sounds like everyone here uses it). Can someone give me a quick step by step on how to do this?

thanks for all the help, I really appreciate this forum!

Edit: I'm getting closer!!! I now figured out how to get to the spot where i change the left soft key... but I don't know how to make it open something else like the calender or something... any help? thanks in advance.

Re: Change soft keys? Registry?

Hi catilt: Wlcome to 4WM!

Our resident expert Boz has written a special file to do this for you. See the post Here and look down to the 3rd post for a link.

Copy the whole file to your device then locate it with File Explorer, and tap the fioe name to run it. This will place a new entry in Settings allowing you to change the soft keys

Alternatively a program named SK Tools offers this tweak in a graphical way, for those who don't want to do registry edits. SK Tools has a lot of good device clean up features, so well worth looking at.
