!!! Internet Explorer 6.1 for WM6 devices, faster + with zoom options - cab file !!!

Internet Explorer 6.1 fast and sleek!

I have extracted the pieces from a WM 6.1 rom and constructed (not without problems!) a cab file for Internet Explorer 6.1 which is the latest and very fast version with zoom and other new options.

I have tested and run this without problems on my Orbit 2, Trinity and Hermes all running Windows Mobile 6. Once installed it will show up as "ie explore" in your program folder, If you wish to place it in your start menu go to start>settings>personal>menus and untick the existing Internet Explorer and tick the new one.

To install the cab file download it to your desktop and connect your device via activesync or Windows Mobile device centre if using Vista, now drag and drop the cab file to your storage card or my documents on your device. Disconnect from activesync/WMDC and use file explorer in programs on your device to find the cab file, tap on it to install and make sure you install it to your device not the storage card. After installation soft reset your device and it is ready to use.

Please remember that this is an unknown quantity and you may not get all the available functions on some devices, but you will still have a faster browsing experience with it.

What's in this version not in older ones? Zoom obviously. Have they put search in page in -that's what I always miss.

It hasn't got that option as far as I can see, you could give it a try cyclist and see if you agree that it does render pages much faster than previous versions, the zoom level gives various sizes of text, the zoom function shrinks the page size as in the screenshot. I have made sure it is an easy uninstall no junk is left behind.

Certainly seams faster, not sure how useful the zoom function will prove to be, most sites i look at are in mobile format anyway.

I've put this on my Hermes, but it is tricky for me to tell the speed increase as it has been on since getting this device at the weekend and this move has included being able to use HSDPA so all I can say is that the app works and that my web browsing on this device is an awesome experience I haven't even turned WiFi on yet
