Re: PPC Synch without Outlook

and the more I use OWA the more I wonder why I bother to have Outlook set up on the PC, infat more and more of my stuff is done either through web access or on my SP/PPC rather than through thick client applications.

I must admit I do love using OWA, comes in very handy at times.

Re: PPC Synch without Outlook

Just an update to the BirdieSynch thing. Now that I have gone for Exchange Synch, BirdieSynch has caused serious problems. It looks like the two won't sit side-by-side too happily. In the end I was stuck in a constant reboot cycle. After each boot, BirdieSynch would display an error message telling me it was no longer set as the default synch option and that I should restart to sort this out. Restarting produced the same message and not-restarting left the device in an unusable state.

In the end I was forced to hard-reset. Unfortunately, all my backups also contained BirdieSynch so I ended up rebuilding from scratch. I hadn't done this in nearly six months so it seemed a sensible thing to do anyway.

So, BirdieSynch is a great product for synching with Thunderbird but should be removed before attempting Exchange synch!

Re: PPC Synch without Outlook

I think the Thunderbird EAS compatibility is supposed to be coming in September.
