Jumping Ship

I'm moving to an Android device next week, which means no more WinMo.

I know that there was once talk about the new ubook being more portable, so potentially could be ported to Android - any update to this?

Thanks, Carl.

Re: Jumping Ship

The Motorola Droid (I'm a long-time Verizon Wireless customer). I found an Android book reader, Word Player (http://www.word-player.com/) that seems to have some form of highlighting of text - not quite annotations, but at least this helps me find areas of books I need to improve.

Unless the local shop runs out, I should have my Droid this Friday, so I can play with it this weekend.

Cheers, Carl.

Re: Jumping Ship

That IS a very tempting device. Capacitive OLED display, Android 2 and 5MP camera. Nice.

Re: Jumping Ship

Our household now has a Blackberry and a Palm Pre, so there's pressure for porting . Slowly but surely. But porting C code to Java (Blackberry / Android) or Javascript (?! what the...) for the Palm Pre will be a challenge...

Re: Jumping Ship

I put three different Android e-book readers through the ringers, and ended up liking Aldiko the best. However, none of them yet have highlighting (Word-Players claims to, but it's not working on the Droid, and Aldiko has pledged that feature is coming).

I wrote up a mini-review on the phandroid forums: http://androidforums.com/android-app...tml#post203030

Cheers, Carl.
