Bug?

I have just downloaded and installed 2010r0f_M6 on "the device".

It looked very promising and opened ok. However, when I tried to open the folder I keep the books in on a card the program froze. Choosing "Browse" and then "My computer" stopped the phone from working and I needed to do a reset to stop the program. (Just exiting the program by pressing a button doesn't work, the program is still running in the background, but is not visible in the taskmanager.)

The folder and card can (still) be read ok with the old uBook. I am using a Touch Diamond2 Phone (WM6.1).

Re: Bug?

I don't use / know uBook but do know the diamond - its possible this is caused by The Diamiond calling the internal memory "Internal Storage" rather than "Storage Card".

I have had similar issues with two other apps. Does it do the same if you try and open a folder on the device memory?

One fix that worked for one app was to create a folder called "Storage Card" on the "Internal Storage" and place the apps sub folders on that.

If not someone else may be able to help who knows uBook.

Re: Bug?

Thank you for the suggestion, but unfortunately that isn't the problem. According to "Total commander" the storage card is called just that - "Storage Card".

As far as I can see the root folder is not called anything

It seems to happen as soon as I try to leave the "My Documents/"-folder

Re: Bug?

Also try using Browse... instead of Open... to see the files. The Open... by default will try to compute icons for files and it might be the problem.

Re: Bug?

Unfortunately I get the same problem irrespective if I choose "Browse" or "Open". I have also tried installing the program on the storage card but still get the same error.

I had the same issue on a HTC Diamond phone. I got around it by manually editing the uBook.ini file and fixing up the BOOKS_PATH key.

Thumbs up Re: Bug?

Dear Haggis663

thank you ! that solved most of the problem. If I do that and give the
"BOOKS_PATH=%EXE%../../Storage Card/Books/" everything is ok and I can open books and read them etc

However, when I opened the ubook.ubi file on the device a uBook.ini1.tmp file was created with the
"BOOKS_PATH=%EXE%../../My Documents/" and the program froze as before. Deleting the tmp file made the program work again (but it became unregistered).

The solution then was to move the ubook.ubi to the storage card and then open it from there and now it works.

Perhaps this is something that could be addressed in future versions of the program?

all the best / Björn
