fingers are crossed.

All installed fine and very snappy without anything added.

Re: Asus Eee Pc

I'll post a couple of videos of it later (net connection at work is dismal so uploading them would take a week).

They don't really do it justice though. It feels a lot quicker than it looks.

Calculations per second = 1.8 (processor is 900MHz but runs at 630MHz so next on the list is working out how to sort that out if it's safe to do)
Memory operations per second = 4.2
Performance for Aero = 1.9
Gaming graphics = 1
Disk data transfer = 4.3

Everything seems to be working nicely so far.

Re: Asus Eee Pc

That's very interesting, Vista on the eeePC definitely makes it a viable alternative to the shift... Makes the 901 model look very appealing!

Re: Asus Eee Pc

I think it would be perfect on the 901 due to the bigger ssd.

I'm probably going to have to download pendmoves and shift the \windows\winxs file to the storage card as it is over 1gb and gets bigger.

For anyone interested Paul at modaco worked it all out and has written a very handy guide.

Re: Asus Eee Pc

Just reinstalled xandros.

Vista just needs too much memory and the moving of the winsxs directory didn't work out too well for me as the eeepc, well mine at least, doesn't access the sd slot reliably and errors out a lot so booting the system once the file is moved often ends in BSOD.

Still now i've got the kaiser i can use wmwifirouter to get net on the go or i may try lozisungs internet sharing tutorial later (too tired now for the command line).

Interestingly it only shows my 2gb of ram as 1gb in system but in the diagnostic tool it shows the full 2gb. Weird. I wonder if it uses the 2gb or just 1gb of it (that would be odd seeing as it is 1 2gb stick)

Will do.

Is that your family shield?

I've been toying with the idea of having mine tattooed on my arm/shoulder for a while now.
