Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta

It's very simple to use and unobtrusive.

First impressions are good. I might install win7 on my second drive and download something virus like to see how it handles it, time permitting

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta

Signed up and downloaded the 64bit Win7 version installer to my work machine - will transfer to my home pc tongiht and install - states there is a 75,000 download limit so thought I would get in quick and register and get the installer just in case.

Really liked the original OneCare so looking forward to testing this one out.

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta

OneCare for me has been brilliant - virtually silent and very little noticeable resource overhead....

MS Security Essentials appears just as unobtrusive (and works with Win7).

I do have some worries though! This is a cracking product on the face of it and MS are not charging for it. Are we going to have another EU investigation as everyone switches and the AV companies cry fowl?

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta

I think as long as it isn't bundled with the OS it's ok.
