Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta
Well I got no feedback from my bug report, though a few people are reporting this, so I uninstalled and reinstalled MSSE, and its working again!

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta
am i missing something - i've installed security essentials beta
Microsoft Security Essentials Version: 1.0.1407.0
Antimalware Client Version: 2.0.5612.0
Engine Version: 1.1.4903.0
Antivirus definitions: 1.63.493.0
Antispyware definitions: 1.63.493.0
I'm finding it no where near as good as OneCare - in fact, after removing OneCare from all machines at home, I've actually put it back on the other half's laptop.
MSSE doesn't provide a backup facility (OneCare backed up to my NAS), MSSE doesn't provide discreet updates to Windows and I just down really like MSSE compared to what OneCare did - OneCare needed no maintenance, it just worked.
Missing it on my machine and thinking of putting OneCare back on... am I using an older version of Security Essentials perhaps? Tried updates and it states I'm using latest version.

Nope, you aren't missing anything... Also, anyone else noticed that homeserver reports that AV & Anti-Malware aren't installed on machines running Security Essentials...

Re: Microsoft Security Essentials Beta
Actually, that reminds me. Does anyone know when this is being released? I'm moving the wife back from Linux to Win7 with the new PC this week. I don't fancy forking out £30 for another Avast license if I can get this for nowt.
