Re: O2 XDA Orbit WM6 Upgrade FAQ

Nice one Chris!

Glad you agree with the synopsis. Just feels more 'sorted' and complete.

If you come across anything further, just ask away!

Sorry to hear your woes, Tony!

Firstly, you say 'bricked' - what's the device doing if anything? Are you getting any sort of startup screens, error messages etc...? From there we can look at remedies...

You could try the following: -

I would suggest you make sure you have the V6.1 of Windows Mobile Device Centre and your original ROM.

Connect the Orbit and try running the original update again, and again if it fails. Sometimes this kickstarts the device!

Re: O2 XDA Orbit WM6 Upgrade FAQ

i get the o2 start up, and it then freezes. i tried to run the original rom( art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship) but even though the phone is actually connected to the computer(i get pocketpc usb sync apper) it is still windows mobile device center (6.1) is not detecting it. when i go in to hard reset i get a white screen saying searching for sd card, then it get a screen with red, green, blue, it then says ipl 1.25.0001 and spl 1.25.0000

any ideas ?

Re: O2 XDA Orbit WM6 Upgrade FAQ

Hi, try putting the Orbit into bootloader mode and then start WMDC on your PC now connect your device to your PC via the USB cable, do not worry about WMDC showing if there is a connection or not, now run the upgrade. See if it works.

P.S. take your memory and sim card out before running this or any upgrade!

Re: O2 XDA Orbit WM6 Upgrade FAQ

Found it...

Hold the voice recorder button in and press reset button with the stylus. Bootloader will now appear (three coloured stripes). Then you can connect the USB cable and run the original ROM update for the T-Mobile ROM you have.

Just shout if any further issues getting the original ROM back on...
