How to make your own PPC alarm sounds for free - tutorial

Make your own PPC alarm sounds for free tutorial.

Using a sound/tune from your device.
Install the HTC mp3 trimmer onto your device (which should run on any device) if you wish to use a sound/tune from your device as an alarm tone, it is available as a cab file HERE

The application will show up in your programmes list, now you can use this programme to trim the mp3 sound/tune down to 30 seconds and save it to your devices memory card.

Now you can convert the created mp3 file into a WAV file using the attached desktop mp3 to Wav Converter which is freeware.

Once converted place the file onto your storage card open the Windows folder on your device now copy and paste the WAV file into it, it will now show up when you wish to change your alarm sound.

Using a sound/tune from your PC.
Find the tune/sound you wish to convert from mp3 to WAV and use the free desktop application mp3 splitter which is also attached, trim it to 30 seconds and then use the WAV converter as above.

Once converted place the file onto your storage card open the Windows folder on your device now copy and paste the WAV file into it, it will now show up when you wish to change your alarm sound.

Please note if the converted file does not play as an alarm then the file size is to large and will need trimming down further.
As usual your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

Thumbs up Re: How to make your own PPC alarm sounds for free - tutorial

A super THANKS for this one BOZ!

This is exactly what I have been looking for and NEEDING for a long time now. I realy like to use my alarms on my phone, but my wife HATES that super loud ringing alarm. Scares the heck out of her, and she wants to make me sleep elsewhere in the house, or put my phone through a window lol. I am also not to fond of the alarm tune, and the lack of being able to pick anything else besides the stock alarm tone.... That is till now!

Thanks Dude!
Gem

hmmmmmmm..... now the ONLY last thing I need now to make my phone set up PERFECT, is a working custom weather data base server linked up in the HHC customiser. Then my phone would be perfect and set for life!!!! Hope that drops out of the sky to some day soon like this did lol.

Question Re: How to make your own PPC alarm sounds for free - tutorial

Very cool Boz. I like how simple this makes it for my PPC Phone. My Tytn can play nearly any size of file so no prob there. But I was hoping to have a little fun with this, and have run into a snag you may be able to help me out with

As an mp3 my 10 sec file is only 108KB, nice and small enough for most any phone to use.

As a converted 10 sec wav file it is now 476KB, at the 2bit rate & mono settings. Wow, I never thought a file would grow so big from one to the other.

Do you know how I can shrink it down to around the 100- 150KB size so it can fit onto some of my families phones please? It would be SOOO fun if you know a way, as I can just see there face as a funny ring tone just happens to come from their phone as they are all together! Hmmm the possibilities are endless for family get together fun, hmmm..... a gassy sound from the pocket area at the table anyone? LOL

Any help before I have to hit a plane out of here to see them later today would be GREAT Boz.

Thanks
Gem

I don't think shrinking would work I am afraid as it will then be problematic to play back, unless anyone knows differently!

467KB still isn't a big file at all so wouldn't I worry that much to be honest.
