Q: How do I add Wireless manager to the today screen?
A: Fire up your favourit registry editor and add the following data.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\
NEW KEY, Value = "Wireless" (with the quotes!)
Then at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Today\Items\ "Wireless"
Add the following
New String Value = DLL
Value = netui.dll
New DWord Value = Order
Value = 0 (decimal)
New DWord Value = Enabled
Value = 0 (decimal)
New DWord Value = Type
Value =4 (decimal)
Now open your Today screen settings and enable the Wireless item. Your today screen will show you the state of your wifi connection, bt connection and your carrier name.
This was tested on a Wizard (O2 Mini-S) running ROM version 2.8.7.1. Your mileage may vary.

Had a look and the dll exists in WM2003SE, so I'm guessing it may work. However I don't really want a Today screen item for wifi settings, I want something I can put in iLauncher. Anyone know how to do that?

I think it's supposed to extend all the way to the right but doesn't. Might be down to the fact it's designed for the Exec. The thing that's good about the regedit is that the newer roms remove this 'feature' from the today page, so this puts it back.

Nope that's off, the blue icon is the GSM Radio.
Hold on a sec and I'll get another shot up.

Re: Q: How do I add Wireless manager to the today screen?
Here we go, with WiFi on and then WiFi off,
I think the WiFi off picture now shows the plug-in correctly whereas previously it didn't look quite right.
I guess once you make the registry change you should turn all on, then off to see it properly. After that it's dependant on what you run.

It's quite cool actually. If it gave the signal strength as a percentage too it'd be pretty handy.

It may do, but I'm out of coverage as can be seen. If anyone else within range can show us a shot that'd be cool, otherwise I'll do one tonight myself.
