What SIP do you use?

At the moment it seems that a whole host of differt input methods (Software Interface Panels) are used for data entry on Windows Mobile devices, so we thought we'd hold a poll to see which are the more popular!

So pop over and take the poll - this one should be very interesting!

Re: What SIP do you use?

Its got to be the hardware keyboard for me as they just make things so easy to input.

A recent study compared error rates for 3 different kinds of SIP and there was some interesting results...

Hardware keyboard: 2.1 mistakes per message
Numeric keypad: 2.4 mistakes per message
iPhone software keyboard: 5.6 errors per message

Re: What SIP do you use?

I use touchpal on ameo and the hardware on the kaiser.

Have touchpal by default on both though.

Re: What SIP do you use?

PCM Keyboard for me at the moment on the HTC Touch... The hardware keyboard on the Ameo does the biz on that one!

Re: What SIP do you use?

I'm glad to say that I've seen the light with regards to hardware keyboards!! Until I got my M3100 I had used software solutions for text input (mainly the standard keyboard or phonepad). I did own a stowaway keyboard for my XDA 2i but this wasn't ideal as it meant carrying 2 devices.

Re: What SIP do you use?

Just the standard built-in SIP for me! Don't do enough entry on the device to need any other...

Re: What SIP do you use?

I used to use Block on my non keyboard PPC's but since then I have had an Exec, MiniS and now two SP's the SP5 and the e650 so in general hardware it is for me, I use my devices to do 90% of my email so this input method is invaluable to me, this coupled with the Stowayay BT keyboard for those longer typing moments fullfills my typing requirements at present.

Re: What SIP do you use?

It's a mix of Touchpal for for normal text and the hardware keyboard of the v1615 for longer text. I can't believe that the new HTC SIPs aren't released officially yet. Has anyone checked the HTC support site?

Re: What SIP do you use?

Another vote for TouchPal here, though I also use the built in keyboard and letter recogniser.

TouchPal for me saves a lot of keypresses compared to any of the other inputs due to its predictive text accuracy and comprehensive Dictionary. Unfortunately it takes up too much screen space in Landscape on the Ameo, so I revert to the standard SIP.

Still free of charge till 8th December
