3G or not 3G?

As 3G coverage seems to vary around the UK and other countries we thought it might be interesting to pose the question as to whether you use it or not!

Re: 3G or not 3G?

As in my vote- I can get 3G in some locations, but as it eats the battery, I only use it when downloading or serious web browsing

Re: 3G or not 3G?

Yep I thought that this would be the case with some people so I thought it may be a valid option to add.

Re: 3G or not 3G?

Same as neilm for me, I only use it when I want to indulge in some fast browsing or quick downloading!!

Re: 3G or not 3G?

I get a great 3G signal with Vodafone, I am another that only runs it when needed, which is now most of the time with my improved data plan!

Re: 3G or not 3G?

I get it in most locations in the US and never turn it off... I just keep things about to allow for a recharge wherever I am... like the leather USB charger that was reviewed some time back... I still use it... Link included below...

Re: 3G or not 3G?

I get it at home and use it frequently. I'm never that far from a charger or usb so the battery drain doesn't concern me that much and as i'm on web n walk there isn't the fear of spending too much either.

Re: 3G or not 3G?

I voted use 3G all the time, which is ever so slightly overstating my usage. I generally use 3G, but turn it off sometimes in order to use Navizon on the 2G network for places I've been before. Once my phone is on 2G I don't get round to turning 3G back on until I need to use data the next time. In my usual gym or swim/work/home day I'm either sat at a computer, have a wifi connection or am doing something other than using my device, so it can be 2-3 days till I go somewhere else and need 3G again.

Re: 3G or not 3G?

I have it switched on all the time as I am rarely far from a charger.

I have no choice on my HTC S730 as WM Standard doesn't have the option to set the band!

Re: 3G or not 3G?

I've never used it on my Orbit2. It's been GPRS only since I bought it.
