The newsfeed market is quite competitive now with Newsbreak and others. I have settled for mdigger if only because it is so easy to use with its online manager. And it's free. I'm tempted to try out Viigo with its long list of packaged information but does it do the simple things - my own RSS feeds - just as well as its competitors?

I've been using it for the last few weeks and so far it is the only RSS (and way more than that) application which has stayed on my machine.

I tried this last night, and it is fantastic

There is an issue with the local download facility- using either Opera Mobile or Netfront, the Viigo page doesn't interpret it as a mobile browser, so you never reach the download page, even using the email link method. It does autosense via PIE though, so I'd advise always using PIE to obtain this on a mobile device.

Not had a chance to see how much data it uses- could be a fair amount. The default update interval is 2 hours, which could lead to a huge data bill if you are not careful. I've reset mine to 12 hours- individual channels can be upated manually if required.

May be a point to ask the developer- RSSHub has the option to set the update interval for each individual channel, which is useful for things like News feeds.

Glad you like it Neil. Viigo is indeed a work in progress and a beta so any comments send on to them are being considered. One thing I wanted was more 'Touch' implementation for navigating up / down the pages, etc.

Agreed- some pages respond to touch and others don't at present which can be confusing!

Exactly, we'll have to see how the next update works - Tango is still a work in progress.

I've just put this on the X7500 and was pleased to find that entering my registration details results in all my previously saved channels from the Diamond are sent to the new device .

Also the full data set is only 1.8MB so the storage is efficient and download size should not be a big issue as my accounts have 250 & 500MB pm respectively .

Indeed as long as one has taken the option to register (and therefore save the personal settings) then this works well indeed.
