O2 XDA Zest - memory use

I can't function the camera now because the system claims the internal memory card is full and I can't find the mechanism for changing the camera storage default to the sd card. The only files I have on the internal memory are my contacts so why has it got so little space? The GPS app does not look extravagant and in any case the mapping is on the sd card. Anyone steer me in the right direct to manage the storage differently?

Do you use the device for web browsing? If so, then you need to empty your cache.

There are several utilities available that will find and delete temporary files for you, which can release a lot of space. I use SK Tools. It is a paid for app, and worth every penny.

I don't have a Zest so I cannot tell you where to find that setting for sure, but usually it is available somewhere in the camera app. There are apps that allow you to tweak various settings, and there must be one that includes this, but again I don't know what's appropriate for a Zest. Try installing the trial of SK Tools as that does some tweaks.

Are you sure that your device can see and use your card at all? If it is visible in File Explorer, then it should be OK. If not then that might also cause your symptoms.

Thanks for the response - I will look for the temporary files which sounds like a feasible issue, especially as I cannot see the problem files using explorer. If I do a 'properties' check on every thing visible in the internal storage it appears as if only half the storage has been used

Can you go to Start/Settings/System/Memory and let us know what all the figures say?

I'd also recommend a small program called SpaceFinder from www.tillanosoft.com which can show you how much space your files and folders are occupying. It's free and is only 72KB in size.
